Privacy Policy

Following the legislative changes that have occurred within the legal framework of personal data protection, namely through the implementation and entry into force of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the Parliament and of the Council, of 27 April 2016, on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (General Data Protection Regulation – “GDPR”, as well as Law no. 58/2019, of 08 August, which ensures the implementation in the national legal system of the GDPR, and Law no. 46/2012, of 29 August, which transposed Directive no. 2009/136/EC, in the part amending Directive 2002/58/EC, of the European Parliament and of the Council, of 12 July, concerning the processing of personal data and the protection of privacy in the electronic communications sector, making the first amendment to Law 41/2004, of 18 August, and the second amendment to Decree-Law 7/2004, of 7 January), the Santiago Group (hereinafter referred to as “QUEIJOS SANTIAGO Group”) hereby informs you that it has internally made the necessary adjustments to its privacy policy.
The present privacy policy aims to assure the rights of its Customers, Commercial Partners and Employees (THIRD PARTIES), guaranteeing in this way the legal conformity of the QUEIJOS SANTIAGO Group in what concerns the treatment of data. The purpose of disclosing this policy is to inform the above-mentioned entities of the purposes for which their personal data may be processed, the form in which this data may be processed, with whom the data may, in certain circumstances, be shared, the period for which the data is to be kept, and the channels through which you may interact with the QUEIJOS SANTIAGO Group to exercise your rights.

Data Controller:

Personal data processing pertaining to data subjects who interact with Grupo QUEIJOS SANTIAGO, whether natural or legal persons, will be processed internally by the latter and within the territory of the European Union. Recipients of personal data:

The data provided to us by third parties will only be used for the pursuit of the regular commercial activity of the QUEIJOS SANTIAGO Group, namely for the execution of contracts, diligence prior to the signing of contracts, for litigation purposes or for the sending of advertising campaigns, as long as the recipients give their prior consent. The recipients of advertising campaigns are entitled to, at any time, object to the sending of this type of information.

Disclosure of Information:

The data transferred by third parties will be used by the QUEIJOS SANTIAGO Group for the aforementioned purposes, without prejudice to the fact that, once the prior consent of the THIRD PARTY has been granted, the same information may be used by other companies with which the QUEIJOS SANTIAGO group holds a shareholding, albeit a minority interest.
The data in question may also be provided to the following entities:

  • Auditors internal and external to the QUEIJOS SANTIAGO Group, with
    the guarantee that they will be kept confidential and will not be used
    for purposes other than carrying out the audits.
  • To third-party service providers / contractors of the Grupo QUEIJOS
    SANTIAGO. If you are our client or supplier, your personal data may be processed by companies subcontracted by the QUEIJOS SANTIAGO
    Group, namely for website hosting, email, consultancy services,
    temporary work and other entities that provide services to the
    QUEIJOS SANTIAGO Group. However, only the personal data necessary for the provision of the service in question and with contractual clauses that safeguard them will be supplied to these entities.

Third parties’ rights and guarantees:

  • Access your personal data that has been shared with Grupo QUEIJOS
    SANTIAGO;
  • Request the rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • Request the elimination of your information or request the limitation
    of processing of your personal data.

Personal data profiling:

The QUEIJOS SANTIAGO Group may process the personal data of THIRD PARTIES in order to evaluate personal aspects, such as personal preferences, economic situation, among others, with the strict and sole aim of improving our products and services and the type of communication that may be addressed to them.


This data processing will only be carried out with consent, given at the time of collection.

The data will be kept for this purpose until the data subject exercises his or her right of objection to processing or request of elimination.

Personal data retention periods:

The retention period of the data collected may vary depending on the purpose of their treatment, observing, as a rule, the following periods:

  • Data from Commercial Partners – Will be kept for a period of 10 years,
    due to the possible need to use them for litigation purposes and to
    comply with legal obligations;
  • Data from Third Parties for Advertising Purposes – shall be kept for as
    long as the person concerned does not exercise his/her right to
    oppose the use of his/her data for the purposes in question or request
    that it be deleted;
  • Employee Data – Shall be kept for as long as deemed necessary,
    namely for the purposes of proof and demonstration of information to
    Public Bodies, namely Social Security and the Tax Authority.
